Tivoli Gardens Amusement Park

What a wonderful privilege it is to be a student at a conference. We get invited to a student evening that's held at a special park! It's at the Tivoli Gardens Amusement Park!

There's a buffet dinner and there's a huge aquarium with piranhas and fishes with horns!

See! Fishes with horns!

Copenhagen! Amazing architecture!

Yes! Yes! I finally get to visit a Scandivanian country!

Denmark here I come!

First, the architecture here is amazing! Our apartment was facing the waterfront.

The view from the back of the apartment looked like this:

Up close, it looked like those miniature buildings that we often see in the plans, but seldom get materialized. But here, it's real, and it really looks the same.

Oh! Little boxed houses! I would definitely feel claustrophic! Who's my neighbour? Oh!

Snow, snow...

Snow is like love,
First, it hovers above us like the clouds in the sky.
Then it falls, first, ever so lightly that you won't even notice it.
You just feel it.
Then it becomes larger, and heavier, and ever so exciting!
We play in it, touch it, taste it, feel it and have fun being enveloped by it!

Ahh! How nice it is...
While we drink a hot cup of tea,
Watching it snowing with varying speed outside our windows...
Sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes large, sometimes small,
Decorating trees which had only leaves,
Turning them into white pretty bushes,
Decorating houses which were once black and grey,
Covering their roofs with white fluffy candy and magical icicles,
Driving ducks and doves to walk on ice,
Stopping people in their tracks,
To just admire them.

When snow falls, it freezes us.
We can only watch,
Amazed, astounded, awed.

And then,
As suddenly as it comes,
It disappears,
Ever so silently but rapidly,
And you wonder if it was ever there,
Or was it all just a dream in the night.

Ahh...
Snow, snow,
Do, do, come back again.
We miss you,
Ever so, so much.

Snowing! (Part 2: Melting)

Oh! Look! Guess how thick is this snow? How much snow has fallen and accumulated in our garden?

Ohoh! Almost 13cm!

Look! Snow, snow, snow! Accumulating on top of the leaves, and dripping down like candle wax.

Part 2: Snow has melted! It took 4 days for the snow to accumulate, and two thirds of it melted in just one night!

And how does melted snow looks like? up close? Like this. A piece of flattened ice sheet.

Melted snow on the ground. How pretty!

Oh snow! Why have you melted!

I really miss snow sledging!

And of course, I will miss the icicles!
