In Dubai, I have so much free time that I can scour the newspapers every hour. I discover so much about myself and life fulfilment here.
In UAE, my favourite newspapers is The National. It covers not only news of the GCC (Gulf Corporation Council) Countries, but also focuses on events that happen worldwide. The best part about it is, it highlights all the exciting events that are happening every day of the week, such as theatres, musicals and concerts. It is also in this newspapers, that I marvel about vehicles, humans, art and weather, such as:
3. Women Power in UAE
4. Rain in UAE
5. Traffic Jams6. 6.5 Million Bathtub
7. Child Jockeys in Camel Racing
8. Fined for sleeping on the metro
9. Fined for taking pictures of public buildings
Oh! I have a marvellous view from my apartment too! I get to enjoy sunset by the sea, fireworks from Palm Jumeira, and the cool winter breeze. It's so blissful that I wish I could work here forever.
Fireworks!
Sunset at Jumeira
I'm also very thankful that I found a great church here, with a very supportive cell group and provide insightful information about biblical events! Living in the Middle East and studying the Bible is great, because one develops a fond association with the characters and locations as one steps from one terrain into another on these sacred lands. For example, did you know that Noah's Ark was found in Central Turkey? or Babylon was in Israel? or that the Garden of Eden, might have been in Iraq?
Wow! It's just so exciting. Even though these events happened centuries and milleniums ago, my heart throbs at the evolution of new information. I just can't help it! At the look of things, I might even consider becoming a missionary!
